Mystery Cushion!

Posted on 30 July, 2009

I can’t believe that I haven’t put this on here yet!
I’ve finally finished my Mystery Cushion!! Yippee!! And it’s just gorgeous!

The cushion was designed by Debbie Abrahams and was published in The Knitter magazine over 4 issues. So, for the past three months, I’ve been patiently waiting for each issue of the magazine to drop through my letterbox so that I can get on with the next part of my cushion.
It was knitted using Rowan Cotton Glace and Rowan Pure Silk (both of which I had never knitted with before) with pearl beads, blue seed beads and shell buttons for decoration too.

This is the first Debbie Abraham’s project that I’ve knitted, and have to saw I’m pretty much hooked now. I’ve recently started her Four Season’s Blanket and looking forward to her second Mystery Cushion (the first part to be published in the next issue of The Knitter).

Oh, how my stash has grown!

I’ve just been sorting through all my recently purchased yarn, and I don’t think I’ll have to buy yarn for at least another year! Thanks to John Lewis and their amazing sale, I’ll be busy knitting all through the Winter.

Rowan Kidsilk Spray (571 Mahogany) was reduced to £2.00 per skein. Managed to grab 12 skeins of this.
Maybe knit something from the Kidsilk Dreams booklet!

Rowan Natural Silk Aran (464 Aero) was also reduced to £2.00 per skein. Managed to grab 15 skeins of this.

Rowan Cotton Rope (072 String) was reduced to £1.00 per skein (can you believe that – £1 each).
Managed to grab 15 skeins of this.

Rowan Calmer (465 Onyx) was reduced to £2.50 per skein. Managed to grab 10 skeins of this.

Rowan Damask (41 Silica) was reduced to £0.90 per skein (yes you read it right – 90p each). Managed to grab 14 skeins of this.

Sirdar Just Bamboo (114 Oriental Blue) was reduced to £1.50 per skein. Managed to grab 13 skeins of this.

And then I discovered that Hobbycraft, Glasgow also had a sale on too.
And managed to stash 15 skeins of Rowan Country (654 Juniper), which was reduced to £1.99 per skein.

And now for the fun part – What to knit with all this yarn??!
