Quilting Classes

Over the 2017 – 2018 session, I have two different projects planned – one project for Term 1 (September – December 2017) and another for Term 2 (January – March 2018) .

Term 1 – ‘Catch All Caddy Bag’

The bag that we will be making in Term 1 is the ‘Catch All Caddy Bag’ designed by Patterns By Annie.  It is an ideal project for beginners to bag making.
This sturdy bag has lots of easy-to-access slip pockets and dividers to hold and organise all your craft supplies.
The bag is 7” high by 13½” wide by 6½” deep.

Term 2 – ‘Attic Windows Wall Hanging’

The project for Term 2 is an ‘Attic Windows Wall Hanging’.  This window is part of a quilt designed and made by my craft group, which received the Bronze Award in a recent competition organised by Popular Patchwork magazine (more details about that to follow). This wall hanging can easily be adapted to make a cushion and is 18” wide by 24″ high.

If you can make it along to my weekly craft group (on a Thursday between 12 – 2pm in Prestwick Community Centre), I would be more than happy to bring along these two projects for you to see in person.

Class Details
I will be holding classes on one Wednesday evening and two Thursday mornings during each term.  Each class is held fortnightly.

There will be no Thursday afternoon class, as my craft group meets in Prestwick Community Centre at this time.  Anyone wishing to come along to the group will be more than welcome.

Class Dates
Week 1
Thursday Morning – starts 7th September (9.30 – 11.30)
Week 2
Wednesday Evening – starts 13th September (19.00 – 21.00)
Thursday Morning – starts 14th September (9.30 – 11.30)

Class Costs
Each class runs for two terms: September to December (Catch All Caddy Bag) and January-March (Wall Hanging). The total cost including both terms is £100.  A £10 deposit is required to secure a place.

To make a class booking, please email me using the Contact Me link at the top of this page and I will send you a booking form.

I made my Catch All Caddy Bag using ‘A Walk in the Woods’ fabric by Aneela Hoey.  This fabric is a few years old now and can be quite hard to find.  The Term 2 mini quilt was made using fabrics by Lewis & Irene from their ‘Down By The River‘ collection.  Mandors in Glasgow has a very good stock of Lewis & Irene fabrics, but if you prefer to shop online, The Tartan Reel has a good range of Lewis & Irene fabrics with a very quick shipping service too.
